Chinese New Year is a very important holiday to the Chinese. On Chinese New Year Eve, at night, the Chinese set off loud fireworks to scare away the bad, scary and evil spirits that come to haunt them. They set off the fireworks until midnight and most Chinese stay up at night until 12:00 midnight. Chinese New Year usually happens between late January and early February. They do a lot of arts and crafts using cardboard, string, crayons, glue, paint etc. found around their houses. The Chinese like to craft dragon masks. They use a 3 sided box and draw a scary face, and attach strings to the end.
